Roger Large
Born in Wallasey, Merseyside, 1939. Now lives in West Somerset.
While at college Roger won a landscape prize at the Royal Academy.
Started painting during national service in the RAF.
Studied at Liverpool College of Art 1960 – 1964 and Royal College of Art 1964 – 1967
Awarded 1966 Life Painting Prize, Royal Academy and 1967 Landscape Prize, Royal College of Art.
Exhibitions held include The Royal Academy; Bruton Street Gallery, London; Plumbline Gallery, St. Ives and Reina de Weijer, Amersfoort, Netherlands.
Paintings owned by Linklaters, Inde Coope, Austin/Desmond Fine Art, British Petroleum, Mercury Communications, IBM and private collections.
Roger Large is included in The Dictionary of Artists in Britain Since 1945 by David Buckman.
