Augustus Walford Weedon R.I., R.B.A. 1838-1908

Augustus Walford Weedon was born in London and painting in watercolour specialised in landscape subjects, depicting views in England, Scotland and Wales. He is also known to have travelled to Holland where he produced views mostly of canals and waterways.

He exhibited extensively in London and provincial galleries, where his works were well received. He was elected to the Society of British Artists in 1883, and to the Royal Institue of Painters in Watercolours in 1887.

An Exhibition of his works was held at the Fine Art Society in London in June 1908, and two of his paintings are recorded as hanging in the Melbourne and Sydney Art Galleries in Australia.
